2022 Membership Opening

We are excited to announce the 2022 rider membership opens Tuesday, February 16, 2021. All member dues from 2021 will automatically roll over to the 2022 parade (once you sign the 2022 indemnity). The 2022 parade date is Sunday February 20th. Membership is open to new riders on floats that are not yet full, but there are no early bird dues this year. New member dues are $425.00.

If you have previously paid your dues, they are being rolled over. Please log into your account, update your information and sign your indemnity release for the 2022 ride to complete the rollover process. Each member must sign in individually, even if you paid for multiple members. Only caveat to this is if you signed up a minor to ride, in which case a parent or legal guardian must sign the online indemnity for that minor to be able to ride in 2022.

NEW GRAILS FOR 2022 – We now have pre-glittered grails available for purchase. Grails are sold by the dozen and are one (1) single color per pack. Purple, Green or Gold are available in very limited quantities online and sold on a first come first serve basis. They must be picked up at an upcoming distribution day. Shipping not available.

Krewe Announcement – 11.19.2020

As you may have heard in the recent news, the City of New Orleans will NOT permit parades for Mardi Gras 2021 due to COVID concerns. As much as this breaks our hearts, we agree that the safety of our membership and community is paramount.

This means that 2021 membership dues will be rolled over to 2022 as per our published guidance during the membership drive regarding the possibility of a COVID cancellation. (see excerpt below)

From Krewe Announcement 05-07-2020 – If the King Arthur parade cannot roll due to COVID-19, then dues paid for 2021 will be automatically transferred to the 2022 Mardi Gras season regardless of dues increase”.

This also means that membership for the 2021 Mardi Gras season is now closed. We will open membership again at a later date.

We will be adding our brand new King Arthur Facemask to our online store SOON. The price for these will be $5 each and we will make every effort to ship these Facemasks to you (at an additional cost) if you let us know you’d prefer that.

Please contact your Float Lieutenant if you have any questions.

A Statement from King Arthur

We are deeply saddened and hurt by the acts of racism that have taken place across the nation and here in New Orleans.

The Krewe of King Arthur stands firm in our belief and motto that we welcome all that share our love in Mardi Gras and New Orleans. We continue to uphold the fundamental grounds that our club was founded on 44 years ago which is one of diversity, inclusion, equality, and acceptance. We celebrate diversity and have been working for years on an anti-bullying campaign that supports our ideology. Our Krewe continues to expand the traditional story of King Arthur by embracing additional characters that represent all backgrounds and ethnicities.

Our love of New Orleans is only enhanced by the multi-faceted cultures and influential contributions of everyone within our city and surrounding areas. Our goals have always been to create a safe environment for people to enjoy Carnival while promoting equality and positive social change.

The Krewe of King Arthur has no defined relationship with any other Krewe other than having mutual members or providing support throughout the years. Any statements made by any other Krewe do not reflect the deeply held beliefs of our Krewe.

We recognize that staying silent is not an option and is betrayal to our fellow members. The Krewe of King Arthur stands with our community and behind the Black Lives Matter movement and against any forms of social injustice.

We are humbled by what our diverse board, lieutenants, and membership from all parts of the world have brought to our organization. We do not have all the answers, but we will continue our efforts for change and welcome all that share the common convictions of our Krewe. The Krewe of King Arthur continues to listen and act upon our learnings and welcomes the feedback of our members. Together we can all bring forth change – we can all be the embodiment of the legendary round table of King Arthur.
